Detroit Golf Club's North Course carries one of the most storied legacies in American golf: a Donald Ross original that has hosted the game's best for over a century. When the club committed to a full-scale restoration, the goal was clear: honor Ross's original vision while bringing the course up to modern PGA Tour standards. Led by award-winning architect Tyler J. Rae, the $16.1 million renovation touched every corner of the North Course, from bunker reshaping and green restoration to comprehensive drainage and irrigation upgrades throughout.

What made this project unlike most was the fixed endpoint. The Rocket Classic (July 30 - August 2, 2026) had been on the calendar from day one, and the course needed to be fully grown in and tournament-ready before the PGA Tour arrived. NMP Golf Construction built its entire project schedule backward from that date, coordinating a full renovation plus extensive infrastructure work within a 12-month window.
