At world-renowned Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club, members will experience an elevated practice experience with an expanded footprint alongside a reimagined signature hole.
NMP Golf is wrapping up a summer of renovation at Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club, a premier private community in Florida’s Palm Beach area. The centerpiece of the work is a dramatic transformation of the South Course’s signature par-3 9th hole, where NMP worked alongside golf course architects Fry/Straka to reimagine the green, tees, and the large lake separating them. New bulkhead walls now frame the hole, varying in height as they meander around the green complex and extended teeing area. “It came out sweet,” said Darryl Bartlett, Senior Manager & Chief Development Officer of NMP Golf Construction. “It’s a showpiece.”
The lake expansion did double duty. Enlarging it in both depth and footprint created additional water storage for irrigation, while the approximately 40,000 cubic yards of material extracted was repurposed to build a long berm along the east side of the driving range — screening golfers from traffic on the club’s main entrance road and shielding the range from distraction in both directions.
The project also included a complete rebuild of the main driving range and an expanded short-game practice area. Members will find both new amenities open when the season begins later this fall.
